Stop Writing More. Start Answering Better.
Many students think that writing more will help them score higher marks in English. Unfortunately, that is not always true.
Examiners are not looking for the longest answer. They are looking for the correct answer.
Imagine a question asks:
Why did the boy hesitate before entering the room?
Some students write everything they know about the room. They describe how dark, quiet or empty it was. However, they forget to answer the question.
A better response would explain the reason for the boy’s hesitation.
Before writing any answer, ask yourself:
What exactly is the examiner asking me?
Once you answer that question directly, you can support your answer with evidence.
